Buying Property — Questions & Guidance

Compare the property with its intended use: a permanent home, seasonal base and managed rental have different needs. Look beyond photographs at access, parking, privacy, outdoor space and neighbouring buildings. Ask which fixtures are included and which documents your advisers can review. Keep dated notes and photographs where the owner permits them. Return at another time of day if sunlight, noise or access could affect your decision. Do not treat verbal explanations of boundaries or alterations as documentary confirmation. Before committing, have independent professionals assess concerns and explain any information that remains unverified.
